This may be part one of a series. Who knows if I’ll keep doing it, though. Anyone know? Bueller?
Okay… now it starts with those freebie postcards that lurk in little display thingies round coffee shops, libraries and so forth. Herself collects them, and so do I. Sometimes we find we’ve both gotten a half-dozen of this or that particularly interesting specimen.
I was fiddling with an exacto knife this evening, when I clapped eyes on a pile of recently-acquired postcards. Among them were this:

“Missing #1″, Nikki Toole, published by Avant Card
this:

A card issued on Envirocare 100% recycled stock by Queensland’s Environmental Protection Agency
and this:

A promotional card for the Commonwealth Bank, published by Avant Card.
A bit of knife-work and a stray luminous plastic T-Rex, and up we came with:

Bee Rex!
and
These are not entirely cut-n-paste; the cards are sliced along figure lines and the cutouts interwoven. Here’s Salome’s Lollipop again, with the figure poked through the slot a little further. Note the further cuts along the hair/neck line.
That’s about it for now. Enjoy your Halloweenying. We did nothing, but when I went to the supermarket and all the staff had made such an effort with costumes, I felt some token effort was in order. I was buying a laundry basket, so I upended it on my back and said I’d come as a Ninja Turtle. (Guess you had to be there.)
Whatever, Both My Readers™. Hopefully something more amusing or informative next post.
