April 2: we walk among you!
And I’m very glad to see those I know!
There was a little attention to autism in the local media, but the focus was mainly on kiddies. This is probably a good thing on a number of levels: the youngsters may be spared some of the more repulsive rites of passage, and may even attain adulthood without being permanently traumatised to a major degree.
There were a few magazine articles related to the occasion.
I celebrated in my own narrow-focussed, obsessive way, listening to Django Reinhardt. Gypsy swing seems to be my current Large Interest.
I recommend this book. Certainly this little black autistic duck found enough common ground to say that Robison has almost excused me from ever having to write an in-depth memoir.
Perhaps some more content will suggest itself tomorrow, when I’m not replacing bits of woodwork round the house, or helping Herself choose a birthday present.
For now, I’m off to bed, perchance to dream of Selmer Maccaferri guitars.
