The Ryno Pen

Not a Boobook Owl this time, but a Frogmouth proper, outside the studio ten minutes ago (21:45 local time).

I could hear another frogmouth going “Moop Moop!” a little further down the fence line, and only saw this fellow by sheer luck when he eclipsed a distant streetlight as a I passed by.

Sorry for the photo quality, but I didn’t want to scare him away, so I kept shots to a minimum.
