After a day dealing with stuff like a sewer backing up, and giving what’s left of my back some punishment in the form of shovelling effluent, helping our excellent plumber lift his Alien Probe back into the truck, and sundry other enjoyments, I am at the mercy of pain medication. You won’t get anything logical out of me tonight.

Fortunately, I have here on an envelope the beginnings of a filk, which might almost go to the tune of “Delilah”, as made famous by Tom Jones, were copyright laws not so nasty.

To make the matter worse, this song requires knowledge of the kiddies’ show Playschool,

playschool

which I believe is shown in variants in Australia, the UK and New Zealand. The rest of my readers will both have to forgive me.

Big Ted

Anyway…

I saw the silhouette, Hamble lit up on the shadecloth
I saw the shadow of Little Ted, Big Ted as well…
She was my playmate
I dropped my bucket and spade
And I’m gonna tell!
Why, Why, Why
Jemima!

Jemima

[Wanders off. Back tomorrow, hopefully.]
