Many moons ago, back in nineteen-hundred-and-[mumble], a small, grotty child attended a school in a small place called Yandina, inland from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Our horse and cart had not yet arrived when this was taken.

If it was not for the fact that the classroom layouts tended to face the students west, your humble bloggist would have faced in the direction of what was later to become a Site Of Significance.

Why? Well… in 1978, long after the migratory Rynosseros had quit the fields of cane, the ginger factory moved into Yandina. (I may be slightly wrong on the location, as I only have the sketchiest of maps to go by, but roughly north-east of the school (or the school that was there back When I Were A Lad, anyway).

Regular readers may have guessed by now that I am a hopeless addict to capsaicin, especially in its most noble form. (Would possibly sell what remains of my soul for these!)

And the little hotties are good for you, too.

But, as anybody knows, it’s the Burn that matters.

So, why am I waxing lyrical about ginger and peppers?

Mmmm. Must… buy… more… [drool noise]

The above is proof that there are people in Queensland capable of Sheer Bloody Genius!
