My venus flytrap started popping up flower stalks about a week ago.

Oh, goody, thinks I. I wondered what the flowers would be like, so of course I took to the Intertubes.

Uh-oh.

Apparently flowering is likely to severely knacker, or maybe even kill, the plant. (As if the nasty case of sunburn all my carnivores got from unexpectedly-strong sun in the front window ledge wasn’t bad enough!)

So, it’s snippety-snip for the flytrap.

How would it have turned out?

Maybe a rare yellow

or the more usual white
blanc ordinaire.

I’ll be dividing the plant soon as I get some more peat prepared, and you can expect a post about sundew seedlings soon.
