I’m lucky enough to have a very clever partner. She talked the deal through at the auto dealer’s today, and saved us a considerable chunk-o’-dollars on the new car.

Her deft dismissal of the Expensive Extras Package was also a joy to behold.

More later, like tomorrow.

It’s off to bed with a book for me: the best thing to do on a storm-lashed night, apart from thinking how good it is to have rain here again..

    Hope that you didn’t dismiss the air conditioner.

    No, air-con is standard these days, although the Eggshell didn’t have it. We tend to use 80/80 air-con here: Drive at 80kp/h with window open, get a wind-rush of 80.

    We’ve got a decent stereo, ABS brakes and all that, too.

    The “extras” referred to are the highly-expensive (but so nebulous as to be well-nigh-intangible) Paint Protection and aftermarket rustproofing.

    Given we’re inland and drought-prone, there’s not a lot of rust about here.
